OUR
STORY
Town Center
ER was created because I decided that the way patients are treated
in conventional emergency rooms could be improved. After nearly
10 years as an emergency physician and working at a large hospital
in the Dallas suburbs for several years I decided I didn't like
the "cattle call" medical care that patients were receiving. I
was tired of the "treat 'em and street 'em" attitude that was
required in order to "move the meat" and collect on the care.
I saw a lot of very unhappy patients because they were waiting
too long for the care they needed and because they were stuck
in a system that was broken and didn't address the overall needs
of the patient and their family.
Patients should
be more than just a symptom or an injured body part. I opened
Town Center ER to provide a medical facility where patients are
people that are part of a family and a community. It's a place
where physicians and nurses can take the time to sit down and
talk in order to find out more than just what the current problem
is but how it's effecting the patient and what their current needs
really are; a place where they can be cared for right now when
they need care. I've created a pleasing and relaxing environment
instead of the common institutional environment found in hospital
emergency rooms. Town Center ER is located right here within the
community because this is my community, where my family and I
live and my children go to school. It's here so that people can
get the care they need quickly so that they can get back to their
busy lives with as little disruption as possible.
